Enjoying the outdoors

One of the kids’ favorite things about Noddy and DadDad’s house is the back yard. Emmaline always gets to collect a bouquet, there is usually something to pick and eat (kumquats this time), the lake is beautiful, and of course it helps when Daddy gets in on the fun and gives rides in the wheelbarrow.

Thanksgiving
Yes, I’ve had a terrible time getting around to blogging lately. And I don’t even have pictures to post for the day.
We did, however, have a lovely Thanksgiving which included…
watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade in our PJ’s while drinking hot chocolate
making delicious pancakes on my new griddle
teaching Emmaline how to make paper snowflakes
baking a wonderful cranberry apple pie
feasting with family
starting Prince Caspian with Emmaline
I am thankful for so very many things.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
whom he has redeemed from trouble…
Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things.
Psalm 107: 1,2,8,9

Look, I won something!

Aren’t these things so pretty? Tricia is the great crafter of all sorts of beautiful things, hence the name of her shop, all kinds of beautiful. Thanks, Tricia!

Trick or Treat

Meet Pocahontas and Raccoony (inspired by Meeko, though the kids have never seen the movie, so he’s just Raccoony). Once again, the costumes are thanks to Grammy. Emmaline’s is more a replica of one my mom made for me when I was four than by Disney’s version, and the raccoon was pretty simple. Just gray sweats and fuzzy tail plus face paint. Micah also had a hooded sweatshirt with ears, but this being Florida, it never got cool enough to wear the ears.
We had fun reading about Pocahontas last week and Emmaline was excited to be dressing up as a real Indian princess.

Downtown Disney is always our Halloween venue of choice, and it was especially fun this year because we were joined by two adventure girls, Indian Jones, Prince Caspian, and a sweet bumble bee. The kids got plenty of candy trick-or-treating in the stores and we always enjoy seeing all there is to see at DTD.
As Emmaline said on the drive home, “This was the best Halloween ever!”
