I was shocked by how different he looked after I cut it. All that dark hair was only the top layer, the underneath part was a much lighter brown. By the time I was done, two or three times as much hair was on the floor as was left on his head. Of course, I saved a few dark locks in a little envelope.

I was a little sad to see the baby hair go, but I like his new haircut too.

If you give a kid a cookie,
She’s going to want the kind of tea that has honey it to go with it.
And if you give her the kind of tea that has honey in it,
She’s going to want to go out to the back porch and have grown-up conversations while she drinks it.
And chances are, if you go out to the back porch and have grown-up conversations,
she’s going to want to dress up like a grown-up.
If she dresses up like a grown-up, she might want to pretend she has kids.
Then you’re gonna have to get her dolls out.
And if you get her dolls out, you’re going to have to give them all names.
And if you give them all names,
you’ll have to pretend they’re alive!
And if they’re alive, they’re going to want cookies also.
And so you’ll have to do it all over again with each one!

This Emmanuel banner was my quick and easy craft project this year. Seriously, this took me about 15 minutes to make with some card stock, pre-cut letters, ribbon, and hot glue. Inspired by HopiQ’s Thanksgiving banner.
I’m loving this so much, it almost makes me forget my wish for a mantel.

We spent Thanksgiving at the beach with Trent’s family. Despite the look of these bright, sunny pictures, it was cold! Of course the kids begged to go down to the beach, then they begged to dip their toes in the water. It wasn’t long before they were splashing water all over their jeans and then Micah belly flopped into the water. After about five minutes of being completely soaked, they started shivering and so we hurried back inside to get some dry clothes on.

Hope that God blesses you this holiday with the joy, peace, and contentment that are so elusive in today’s society, yet so directly follow a right attitude of thanksgiving.

… that was the name of our Thanksgiving play at Time Travelers. The direction of this production fell to me though my experience with such things lies somewhere between extremely little and non-existant. Still, when you have such adorable actors and actresses you can hardly go wrong. The kids did a fantastic job and I loved all their costumes.

After the play we enjoyed crafts, games, and a delicious Thanksgiving feast.
